We will lose power by being reduced from 95 to 13 members in between quarterly meetings, with no term limits! Two of the 13 seats are appointed and 6 are elected. The wrecking ball of democracy is headed for the Texas Democratic Party's State Democratic Executive Committee (SDEC) through the Steering Committee Proposal. The Steering Committee Proposal will be voted on in the near future!
Originally on September 18th, the State Democratic Executive Committee (SDEC) were slated to vote on the Steering Committee proposal but it was postponed to December 11th. This will change the Texas Democratic Party Rules in the following ways:

Contact your SDEC Committee Members to Stop or Amend the Steering Committee Proposal at an October Special Meeting! If you believe that inclusion and representation are essential, and you understand why accessibility must be considered in planning from the start, contact your SDEC Committee Representative and urge them to vote no and stop the steering committee proposal.
